I was not happy with how bright those tiles turned out and in fact how much of an issue it was to spray paint them so I grabbed a blank tile and hand painted it a medium brown followed by 2 shades of medium green in 2 halves of the tile and then by a dry brush of yellow.
Pictures below reveal no difference in the 2 shades of green but the overall I think is a lot better.
The apparent patterning in my dry brushing style gives a nice grassland look to the tile.
I will go ahead and repaint the contour prototype tiles to match.
